Infection Control

Infection control and universal precautions protect patients and staff alike.  Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control - you, your dentist, and the rest of the staff.  Our entire team follows procedures recommended by several private, state, and federal agencies.  These include the Organization for Safety and Asepis Procedures (OSAP), the Occupationional Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Our measures include:

      Disinfectant hand soap
      Gloves and face masks
Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
Sterilization of all equipment before every use
      Disposable materials

We disinfect and sterilize all hand instruments, and dental hand pieces.  We use a KaVo QUATTROcare to initially clean the dental handpieces prior to sterialization, a SciCam Hydrim L110W instrument washer to clean and disnfect all hand instruments which are then placed into a Pelton & Crane Delta XL autoclave.  This process ensures that all spores, bacteria, and viruses are killed by chemical, steam, heat and pressure.  Our auto clave is tested monthly in accordance with state regulations.
We also utilize COVERALL Cleaning Concepts a commercial cleaning service that utilizes a health based cleaning system.  For more information on COVERALL visit coverall.com
